Superdry - Chief Financial Officer Succession Planning

Superdry announces that Nick Wharton, Chief Financial Officer ('CFO'), has indicated his desire to retire in order to pursue a plural career.

He will be succeeded by Ed Barker, currently Director of Group Finance, and previously Interim Chief Financial Officer, at J Sainsbury plc ('Sainsbury') who will be appointed CFO and a Director of Superdry plc on a date to be confirmed during the second calendar quarter of 2018.

Nick will work alongside Ed for a period of time in order to ensure a smooth and orderly handover of responsibilities and the completion of the audit of Superdry's accounts for the financial year ending 28 April 2018.

Notes to Editors

·      Nick Wharton was appointed as Chief Financial Officer of Superdry on 24 June 2015. Nick will step down as CFO on the date that Ed Barker is appointed but will remain with Superdry for a period thereafter to ensure a smooth and orderly handover of responsibilities. Nick is a non-executive director of Mothercare plc.

·      Ed Barker is currently Director of Group Finance with Sainsbury having held a number of financial and operational roles at that company since joining in 2008. Between July 2016 and March 2017 he was the Interim Chief Financial Officer for Sainsbury. Before joining Sainsbury Ed worked as Group Financial Controller at Burberry plc. He is a non-executive director at Staffline Group plc.

·      A further announcement will be made when Ed Barker takes up his role at Superdry in due course.  No further details remain to be disclosed in respect of his appointment under Rule 9.6.13 of the Listing Rules.
